Ed has been with the University of South Carolina since September, 1986. In addition to his administrative duties in the Institute, he serves as a trainer, facilitator, and management consultant to state and local government.

Prior to joining the Institute, Ed served 13 years with the South Carolina Commission for the Blind as a rehabilitation counselor and administrator.

A former local elected official, he served as a member of the Irmo Town Council. Ed has also served as a member and chairman of the Irmo Planning Commission.

Ed has a Bachelor of Science in psychology, a Master of Education in rehabilitation counseling, and a Master of Public Administration, all from the University of South Carolina. He is a 1993 graduate of Leadership South Carolina, a 1995 graduate of the SC Executive Institute, and a 2000 graduate of the SC Economic Developers’ School.
