Ron has a B.A. in Journalism from
the University of South Carolina and an M.A. in Mass Communications
from the University of Denver. As part of the Institute’s survey
research services, he trains, supervises and evaluates telephone
interviewers; manages sample; programs the CATI system; and
codes open-ended responses. He serves as co-chairman of the
Institute’s Communications Committee. Ron has worked in several
other capacities at the Institute since joining the staff in
1994, including managing the collection of data for a drug and
alcohol abuse survey of 1000 detainees in county detention centers
throughout South Carolina. From 1968 to 1993, he served in the
U.S. Air Force as a public affairs officer.
