Becky holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Social Work Degree from
the University of South Carolina. She is also a 2001 graduate of
the South Carolina Executive Institute and a 2005 Graduate of
Leadership South Carolina.
She has served the administrations of Governors
Robert E. McNair, John C. West, Richard W. Riley, and James H.
Hodges. She has also served as a legislative aide to the Republican
Caucus as well as Republican leadership in The General Assembly and
to the late Terry Haskins, Speaker Pro Tempore of the House of
Representatives.
She was appointed Executive Director of the
South Carolina Commission on Women by Governor Jim Hodges in January
1999. She advised the Governor and legislators on matters related
to the needs of women in South Carolina. She currently teaches a
course in Women in Society in the Department of Women and Gender
Studies at USC.
Becky has served on a number of boards to
include Palmetto Place Children’s Shelter, South Carolina Campaign
to Prevent Teen Pregnancy and the Governor’s Task Force on Domestic
Violence. She currently serves on the College of Social Work
Partnership Board at USC.
