Jeff earned a Bachelor and a Master
of Science in Zoology from Clemson University, and a Ph.D. in
Biological Sciences from the State University of New York at
Albany. He has served on the faculties of the Department of
Ecology and Evolution at the State University of New York at
Stony Brook, and the Biology Departments of Baruch College of
the City University of New York and the State University of
New York at Farmingdale. Prior to arriving at the Institute,
he served over 12 years as a senior scientist at two major environmental
consulting firms. In addition to his position as the Institute's
Director of the Environmental Research and Service, Dr. Beacham
is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological
Sciences at Clemson University.
Dr. Beacham has conducted basic and applied research in the
fields of ecology, environmental assessment and impact analysis,
natural resources management, and animal behavior. His extensive
work as an environmental consultant has included leading research
and development programs, leading development of service groups,
and providing technical and management leadership for environmental
assessment and impact analysis projects. His honors have included:
the American Consulting Engineers Council, North Carolina Grand
Conceptor Award and a National Recognition Award in 2001; the
New Jersey Environmental Exposition - Leaders in Environmental
Excellence Awards in1993; and a WMX Technologies President's
Award for Operational and Environmental Innovation in1993. |
